Last week, 147 women received their diplomas for completing their home economics training to great applause. After the six-month training, they are now sought-after specialists and have truly earned the cheers.

Eskedar Minzibel, 26, has two one-year-old twin daughters and lives in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa. Menschen für Menschen has included her children in the nutrition program for malnourished young children. Here Eskedar tells her story.

Everyone has a right to clean drinking water! In our new project area Hambela Wamena in southern Ethiopia, we are building 16 spring catchments. More than 11,000 people will benefit from this.

A spring catchment not only provides clean drinking water. For 15-year-old Tigist, the new infrastructure also means an end to a daily ordeal. "Finally, I'm not getting hit anymore," she reports.

Rahel Tekle had to leave her partner. "He was a drinker, it was too much for him," she says. Now she has new hope. Her daughter is being looked after in our daycare center while Rahel completes her vocational training.
